Rusty is one hell of a bonsai enthusiast and teacher! What an experience we had at his direction! The studio at his home is full of the love of the art with advice and expertise in every aspect of bonsai. He is an award winner and a product maker for the craft. How are lucky are we that he is local! We spent 2.5 hours getting a tour and repotting/cutting two bonsai trees. He set them up with the right soil, pots, wire and all the moss you can imagine! Highly recommend you check this guy out! Well done!!! So much fun!!!

My husband and I took what was supposed to be a two hour class with Rusty and it turned out to be more like five hours. He provided us with so much information and kept answering any question we had. He was kind, funny, generous, and knowledgeable. We left with two beautiful bonsai and smiles on our faces. He is clearly passionate about what he does. We’re hoping to go back again.

Rusty is a Mr. Miyagi level master when it comes to bonsai’s 😂, what a great experience. You get an award winning wealth of knowledge, along with a wide variety of hand manicured pieces that are beyond expectations! I brought in about 20 trees and bushes, I had questions on at least half and at least 4-6 I wanted to work on. Rusty and I spent 4 and a half hours working on my plants. I came home with 4 bonsai ready for prime to viewing. None were done, because a bonsai is never done. All the rest are works in progress, some need several years of work to get a really good bonsai, but that is normal. My class was 1 on 1, we had a GREAT time, looking forward to going back as soon as I return from a trip. This class did not break the bank either, I find Rusty’s prices on tools, pots, soil and plants very competitive. Rusty is extremely knowledgeable easy going and more than willing to answer any and all questions. I learned a ton!!!! If you bring your own plant Rusty supply’s everything else except the pot, that includes tools, special soil, cut paste, wire, knowledge etc. Given everything that is included this is great value.
